from the history of the museum
First wreck of a historical motorcycle came to the museum's owners and enterpreneurs in the half of the seventies. After its successful renovation one of the largest collections of historical motorcycles started to grow in Czechoslovakia at that time, today in the Czech Republic. All renovation work has been carried out by the owner himself to the present day. Many photographs of the museum exhibits were published in special and also amateur motorcycle magazines. It reflects the quality of the renovation work.
In 1992 the motorcycle and toy collections were introduced to public in a historical building close to the square in Kašperské Hory. The building itself comes from the 13th -14th centuries. Historical granite columns have been preserved in the courtyard. Untender reconstruction of the building was carried out in the fifties. Fortunately it did not touch the attic premises where the visitors will find a wonderful demonstration of the work of carpenters from the Bohemian Forest to the present day. The hight of the roof timber reaches up to 14 metres in the highest point.
These attic premises function as an exposition of approx. 60 motorcycles. Further 40 machines (including historical bicycles) are placed in the subsidiary of the museum in Bečov nad Teplou. The collection of Czech and foreign makes contains also world unique objects and is continuously being expanded together with the collection of Czech historical toys. We introduce some of the interesting exhibits on the following pages.
