Producer: Jaroslav Cvach - factory for textile machines in Horažďovice
Displayed JAC 500 (year of production: 1930) is a motorcycle of unique construction - the engine is two-stroke of 500ccm capacity with cone sleeve valve directly on the crankshaft. Further more we can admire 3-level gear box, one-disc clutch controlled by a foot pedal or transmission to the rear wheel by means of propel shaft. A break of rear wheel placed directly in propel shaft is the producer's own patent. The front fork is made of full material of circular cross section, the frame is made of steel profiles, the tank is placed under the drivers seat. Thanks to the engine construction with a sleeve valve transmission the producer guaranteed the power of 15 PS and consumption of 3,2 l per 100 km.
Approx. 35 of these motorcycles were produced in total and even though they were advertised as the cheapest "fivehundreds" on our market (price 9.500,- Kč) at that time, they were not spread around. Mr. Janeček (JAWA) was interested in buying the patent for the drive unit of this type but no agreement was made in the end. The motorcycle is the only one preserved till the present time.
